5 Things to Help You Recharge This Holiday Season
As 2020 wraps up, it’s important to have time to reflect and appreciate the gifts that this year has given us. While it’s been difficult for so many, patience and gratitude have given us the strength to look into the new year with hope. Here are five things you can do to re-set and re-charge this holiday season:
Do Something Active
This season, if you’re able, consider taking more time to do something active or outdoors. Perhaps a walk around the neighborhood with your dog, or a stroll along the sound with your camera. Give yourself time to enjoy the world around you and reconnect with nature.
Practice Meditation
This is a great way to quiet your mind and wind down at the end of the day! It’s an even better way to begin the day if you’re an early riser. Find a place in your home that makes you feel safe and comfortable, and focus on taking deep breaths. If a guided meditation is something you’d be encouraged by, there are many great phone apps such as Headspace or Calm.
Indulge In Your Passions
If you like to cook, carve out extra time to look up a new recipe, put on some music, and create something new! If you like to sew or knit, put on your favorite holiday movie and start a new project. Finish that book you’ve been meaning to get to! Do what you love.
Have Video Call With Your Loved Ones
There’s no time like family time, and while all of us are adjusting to reduced visits, consider pouring a glass of wine and joining your family for a video call to catch up. You’ll be able to see everyone’s holiday decorations, and enjoy some conversation together.
Give Yourself Some Breathing Room
Everyone needs time in their own space, so make sure you’re taking a moment to yourself here and there to read, draw, or play the crossword without distraction. Create your own space to do what makes you happy!
Wishing all of my friends, colleagues, clients and loved ones a warm and peaceful holiday season!
